These coins were originally minted in 1908 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the reign of Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria. The coin is made of 0.900 fine gold, which means it contains 90% gold and 10% copper to increase its durability.

The obverse of the coin features the portrait of Emperor Franz Joseph I, facing right, with his name and title inscribed around the edge of the coin. The reverse of the coin depicts the Austrian coat of arms, with a double-headed eagle holding a shield and a sword, surrounded by the name of the country, the face value of "100 Corona," and the year of issue.

The coin has a diameter of 37 mm and a weight of 30.48 grams, making it one of the largest and heaviest gold coins ever produced for circulation. Due to its historical significance, the coin remains a popular choice for investors and collectors of gold bullion coins.
