The History Behind KJC and Jaggards

As KJC Coins Australia approaches 30 years in business, we share our untold legacy in the bullion and numismatic industry.

If there’s anything the Jaggard name is synonymous within Australia, it’s Gold. In fact, our name is the oldest and most reputable name when it comes to bullion and numismatic merchants in Australia. When you purchase with KJC Coins Australia, you are dealing with Australia’s only bullion and numismatic dealer that still has an actual Jaggard running the business.

A Family Legacy and Heritage

In 1963, Carol and Robert Jaggard founded the numismatic and bullion company Jaggards. Kurt Jaggard, a university graduate was born into the trade. He grew up around his parent’s business and after a short stint on the foreign exchange desks with merchant banks eventually became director and half-owner of Jaggards. Reluctantly, Robert and Carol sold the company Jaggards due to family separation, and Kurt started KJC Coins Australia in 1995 with his wife Nathalie. It’s important to note that while the bullion Company Jaggards still bears the family name, there is absolutely no actual member of the Jaggard family and the associated industry experience involved with it in any way or means. Additionally, Kurt and Nathalie Jaggard’s daughter Remie Jaggard, also a university graduate who grew up around her parents' business has now worked to become the business manager at KJC Coins Australia, bringing in fresh talent meaning the Jaggard's legacy continues with KJC now being multi-generational.

A New Debut: KJC Coins Australia

We want our customers to know that KJC’s passion for bullion and numismatics is part of our DNA. We are experts in bullion and numismatics, combining knowledge passed down through generations with hands-on local and international experience.

Kurt Jaggard has a Bachelor’s in economics, as well as international experience working exclusively in many cases purchasing gold coins, directly from both French and Swiss banks. This makes our knowledge of coins and in particular sovereigns, unmatched in today’s market. We can take a look at a coin and tell what is real, and fake, what’s valuable and what isn’t. This is an experience no other bullion company in Australia can provide. We guarantee that each product bought and sold at KJC Coins Australia has been graded, examined, checked and tested by Kurt Jaggard personally.

When you deal with KJC, you deal with a trusted name and service excellence that has been reputable beyond our beginnings in 1995 and tracing back to 1963.
