Product Description:
An iconic product of The Perth Mint, the gold Australian kangaroo bullion coins are a striking tribute to Australia’s most recognisable animal. Reaching more than 6 feet tall, kangaroos possess the astonishing capability of leaping a vast 30 feet in a single bound.
The kangaroos take centre stage in the 2026 gold coin design with two kangaroos leaping through shimmering waters. The background features water ripples and splashes with a mountain landscape in the distance.
The privy mark with the number ‘40’ in the smaller coins commemorates the 40th anniversary of the Australian Nugget, the first official Australian legal tender gold coin series. The design incorporates The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark, the 2026 year-date and the coin’s weight and purity.
Each small gold coin design also incorporates the inscription ‘KANGAROO’, while the 1 kilo coin features the inscription ‘AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO’. The obverse of each coin bears the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, and the monetary denomination.
Issued as Australian legal tender, each coin in the program is meticulously struck by The Perth Mint from 99.99% pure gold. With coins from as small as 1/10oz ranging up to an impressive 1 kilo, the program provides outstanding convenience for all gold bullion coin buyers.
No more than 100,000 1/2oz coins, 150,000 1/4oz coins and 200,000 1/10oz coins will be produced.
Mintages of the 1 kilo and 1oz coins are unlimited, however, production will close at the end of 2026, after which The Perth Mint will declare the official mintages.
