Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was born in London at 2:40am on 21 April 1926 and 2021 marks her 95th birthday. What an incredible milestone and opportunity to celebrate the sovereign’s remarkable longevity, steady hand as the Head of State, and her undiminished devotion to royal duty.

Struck by The Perth Mint from 99.99% pure silver, these coins are issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965. The Perth Mint will release no more than 5,000 1oz silver coins.

The Jody Clark effigy of The Queen appears on the coin’s obverse, which also includes the coin’s weight, purity, monetary denomination and year-date. The reverse side of the coin portrays Mary Gillick’s effigy of the young Queen which appeared on Australian circulating coinage between 1953 and 1964. The portrait overlays a backdrop of stylised wattle, Australia’s national floral emblem, and is surrounded by the inscription ‘H.M. QUEEN ELIZABETH II 21 APRIL 1926’. Also included in the design is The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mint mark.
