The 1971 Bond film Diamonds Are Forever shows Bond tracking SPECTRE boss Blofeld to the United States, where he discovers his evil enemy is stockpiling diamonds for a space-based laser gun. Played by Sean Connery, 007 must neutralise the satellite and prevent the supervillain from carrying out his latest threat to global stability.

Struck by The Perth Mint from 1 oz of 99.99% pure silver, the coin is issued as legal tender under the authority of the Government of Tuvalu. The Perth Mint will release no more than 5,000 of the James Bond Diamonds Are Forever 50th Anniversary Silver Proof Coloured Coin.

The coin’s reverse design features a moon buggy 007 uses to escape across the Nevada desert and the Bond Family Crest bearing the motto ORBIS NON SUFFICIT (the world is not enough) and the number 50, as well as the iconic diamond satellite and inscription ‘DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER’

The Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II appears on the obverse with the coin’s 2021 year-date, weight, purity and monetary denomination.
