Caius Octavius Thurinus was born in Rome in 63 B.C. he was the adopted great-nephew of Julius Caesar and he would be declared his heir at the age of 18 before he was assassinated. Octavius (as he was known) would take it upon himself to avenge his great uncle and administer stability to the fractured Roman Empire. the Roman empire was in open civil war for decades after the death of Caesar due to a power vacuum that would ensue. Octavius would form what is known as the Second Triumvirate with Marc Antony and Lepides, they together would defeat Julius Caesar's conspirators Brutus and Cassius in the battle of Philippi in 42 B.C. marking an end to the turmoil in Rome at the time.
