Product Description:

The 1 oz 2021 St. Helena Queen’s Virtues Victory Gold Bullion Coin is the first release in a new series celebrating Her Majesty the Queen, and inspired by the six Queen’s Virtues – Victory, Truth, Justice, Charity, Courage, and Constancy.

The Queen's Virtues were developed in the 19th century, during Queen Victoria's reign, as principles that the monarch herself represented in her leadership of the realm. These virtues were utilised as allegories, literary devices to illustrate the Queen's moral and physical characteristics during the period. A statue representing these six qualities in the shape of female personifications was erected in London as a gesture of respect for her.

*1st issue of the Queen Virtues coin series.
*Contains 1 Troy oz of .999 pure gold
*Official legal tender of St Helena
*Issued by the East India Company on behalf of St. Helena.

The coin features a statuesque version of the Winged Angel of Victory. She is holding in her hand a Victors Palm which is an ancient symbol for victory, triumph and peace. The obverse of the coin bears a portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, with the weight and fineness, year-date, and monetary denomination also detailed.
